Default Ignition switch, connector, or lock cylinder?

Periodically when I place the key in the ignition with the door open the normal beeping sound doesnt occur, also sometimes the key will not turn in the cylinder when trying to start, this occurs along with the non beeping sound. Ive been able to turn the key after removing the the key a few times or moving the steering wheel just a bit. Anyone have any idea if this the connector at the fuse panel, ignition switch, or the the lock cylinder. The lock cylinder operates very smoothly once the key turns. I searched DIY but the one link Ive found refers to 4th generation accords. Haynes manual describes the connector and continuity problems but not in detail. Any advice on diagnosis and fix much appreciated. Thanks 143000 currently on the odometer.
