Default Increasing RPM's without acceleration

Hello,

I have a 93 accord manual 2.2 with 156k. I drive a steep hill to school every morning and I've notice that my RPM's begin to climb without acceleration. I noticed it in fourth, but now it happens on the highway in 3rd and 5th. The RPM's only climb during fast acceleration.
A transmission discussion thread was mentioning something about TM cable letting go while climbing hills, but this was a post for an automatic, and I'm not mechanically experienced by any means.
If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate them. I'm wondering if this is something that needs immediate attention, and if so, I would want to know my options.

Thank you,
driscollmv

Sounds to me like the clutch is starting to slip from being worn out.

Sounds like a worn-out clutch to me too.

Well, a worn-out clutch means you have to remove the trans from the car. You just don't need to dismantle the trans.
