Default Installed rebuilt head on 99 VTEC, now runs like crap

Hey Guys,

History: Had to get the head fixed on my 1999 4 cyl Vtec because a valve broke. Just installed the head yesterday and I can't get it to run right. I adjusted the valves to .010 for intake and .012 for exhaust.

It will run, but stumbles when you add gas in neutral and tries to quit when you rev up to 2500 or so. There aren't any codes, and I was leaning towards this being a EFI issue? Kind of acts like it might be starving for fuel....

When I had the head off, I cleaned out the intake manifold with stoddard solvent and was wondering in I could have messed up a sensor....

Any info on what all the sensors on the intake are and how to test them? Also, what is the coolant hose that goes to the back of the intake?

Thanks for your patience and help, I'm new to the newer motors.

Thanks,

Clark

Are you sure the map and tps connectors are on the correct sensor? IIRC, they can very easily get swapped.

Will it idle fine? Might not cure the problem but there is an "idle re-learn" procedure that can't hurt.....Not sure if that is in the "Common DIY Threads" (second from the top) or not. If not search in the DIY section.

Double check the gounds, wires, timing. Also double check the vac lines.

Pull the plugs and see if they are white.
