Hi all, I just brought home my new 2007 Accord and I have 2 questions?

1. Are all new Accord hoods hard to close? I put the hood down on the latch and I really have to push hard and firm on the front center of the hood to get it to latch closed.

2. I want to buy a magnetic drain plug for the oil and trans. Do the Accords already have magnetic drain plugs from the factory?

1. It's not hard on the hood latch to hold the hood at 12 - 18" and let it drop and close with the force of gravity. I've done that on all cars and have seen everyone else do it.

2. The tranny should have a magnetic plug in it already, my 95 does. The magnetic oil plugs can probably be found online somewhere, but they are optional and not necessary unless you drive your car hard.

 

1. NEVER EVER do that. Nowadays hoods dont close that way. Just gently drop the hood down and it'll close.

2. I don't know....but you should ask the dealer, he'll give you an accurate answer.

 

1. drop any hood from about 18" to close it.

As for the hood, take it back to the dealer , they might have to realign ( adjust ) it properly

I usually just drop the hood down from about 10 inches and it will close, but this one will absolutely not close. Thanks, I'm going to have to take it back to get the hood latch adjusted.
