Question Just wondering if anyone knew off hand!!

Just two quick questions.
Tomorrow I am planning on adjusting the valve clearance on my 93 Accord (1st time doing something like this but working on cars for 10 yrs is something I finally need to get under my belt, plus looks easy). I got all the tools ready, I just didnt check on the crankshaft pulley bolt size.
My question is does anyone know off hand what size socket I will need for the crankshaft pulley to spin the engine? Also would a 3/8" ratchet (long handled) with extentions be enough or do I need a 1/2" ratchet with 1/2" extensions?
Thank you

19mm, yes if you have the plugs out the 3/8 will work.

poorman212-thanx, I saw that on a youtube video about takin the plugs out that it made it easier, just wondering before I head out to the driveway to undertake the job.
Have u ever done it & is it as easy as it looks? I know takin it slow is the best way and know the feel of the feeler gauge is important and I hav experience w/ them at my full time job (machinist).
Thanx again for the quick reply.

Ang has you going. Yes, only key thing is that the engine is "cold". From there just follow the directions/marks/cyls......don't take this wrong, my 17 yr just did his on the 89. I watched and only stepped in to be sure he knew what "drag" on the feeler gauge felt like. After two cyl, he had it down.

thanx for the help. i did it yesterday and all went well. The valves werent off much at all just a few adjustments here and there. Engine doesnt seem to run any different. Should there be a dramatic difference?

The valves would have to be rattling like crazy to affect performance. I checked a 1990 w/ over 200K miles and found all very close to spec. Same on 94 Accord w/ similar mileage.

I've seen big claims for improvements from this maintenance, but am skeptical.

good luck

Texashonda - I wasnt really looking for performance or mileage improvements, I was mostly just doing some extra maintance to the car to keep it running better cuz I need it to be the best it can be.
Lately I have done, valve adjustment, egr port cleaning, cleaned out egr, iacv & ficv, changed plugs, cleaned wire connections.
Next is timing/balance belt/tensioners, water pump, accessory belts, quick-struts all around, frt & rear lower outer bushings @ the strut & frt & rear endlinks.
Just loooking to maintain it.
