Default Knock Sensor replacement cost? 2012 Honda Accord EX-L 3.5L V6rd

Hello,

I have been getting quotes for around $350 to $500(Honda dealership) for replacing my knock sensor. Curious about what I should expect to pay for a replacement and if anyone has done it on their own without removing the manifold.

Thanks!

You can get an idea of the cost for the part from an OEM part site like hondapartsnow.com. There are some youtube videos on replacing the sensor. Access to the sensor is pretty tight without removing the intake. You'll have to take a look at your engine setup to see if you could access the sensor to replace.

At another forum it was stated, the alternative to access the knock sensor without taking off the intake manifold is to remove the power steering pump and move it aside. Then use a socket with a swivel joint to get the knock sensor out.

Be aware that sometimes it isn't due to the knock sensor being bad; but, the wiring damaged by rodent chew.
