Knocking sound, possibly form water pump
I have a sort of knocking sound coming from my motor. One guy I talked to said he thought it was a water pump.
The car does not overheat and it is not losing water but, isn't the water pump connected to the timing belt. So if the water pump freezes up, couldn't it ruin the whole engine?
About how much does something like this cost to fix?
2005 Honda Accord EX 5 speed
(my signature says it is a 2.2L but I am certain 2.4 is stamped on the valve cover)

For a four cylinder, the water pump pulley is connected to the drive belt.
Your car doesn't have a timing belt, it has a timing (cam) chain.
Honda water pump part price is like $100. Many shops will charge about 2.8 hours labor. Coolant is drained, the drive belt is removed, power steering pump is moved out of the way, and drive belt auto-tensioner removed to be able to access the water pump bolts.

Based on such an offhand comment I wouldn't spend for the commented repair. Make sure the sound is reproducible and then take it to a repair shop you trust and pay for the diagnosis if you don't do it yourself. You can get a mechanics stethescope from Harbor Freight for <$10, BTW, to help locating the noise problem.
I've never experienced a water pump making an knocking noise audible to me, the driver. Just saying
