Default left side axle seal leaking

i just replaced the driver side axle seal in my 99 accord v6 2dr ex. after just one day it is now leaking worse than ever. i did use oem seal. when the seal was removed today on the inside inner lip it was torn about half way around. my gut says i put the seal in too deep. can anyone give me a detailed instruction on how to properly install another new seal? how far should the seal go in, as far as it can or flush with the housing?

Flush with the housing.
I just had a topic about this.
Search under my name for axle seal and you will see what I had to do to fix my issue.

most of those seal rip because when you slide the axle back in ,,you do not slide it in straight thus it catches the inner lip of the seal and seal will leak,, aside from installing the seal flush or slightly behond flush make sure you slide the axle in straight without catching the inner seal lip
