Default A lil help with my "new" 95 accord... Tire suspension issues...

I just resently bought a 1995 honda accord... Its in great shape.. 110,00 miles.. Runs great.. And everything checks out.... Except when i bought it, it came with these huge 18" rims w/ 40 seires tires... When im driving down the road, at any speed, it makes a "psssh" sound every time i hit the smallest bump... I put my hand up in between the tire and suspension in the front and i noticed that there isnt even a 1/4 in. in between the tire and bottom of the strut.. (in the back even less) I know its scrapping, but what im wondering is if this could cause a blow out... Or anything? Im usually driving with my children and wife... And of course dont want that... Any advice would be great.. Thanks

I'm great believer in "stock" everything, so I'd probably be in the market for original rims, tires.
will be pricey change though.

welcome

I would definitely consider getting smaller rims/tires.

Search around for prices on OEM honda rims. You might be able to find rims at car-part.com or maybe check out a U-Pull-It type junkyard. Ebay and craigslist are another option.

Most likely your stock struts are blown from the heavier wheels.

All kinds of aftermarket wheels, in reasonable sizes. Many are cheaper than Honda factory wheels. Check http://www.tirerack.com for one place.
