Default loping idle

i was wondering about how long you bleed the cooling system and does the motor need to be running for this procedure, just switched this motor and when you start it it idles high around 1100 rpm and then lopes between 1100 and 1800 rpm even after it warms up took off the three "valves" on the throttle body and cleaned them and burped the block not sure if I did it correctly, motor was running fine in other vehicle. any advice will be great

You should put your car's information in your signature, so we know what you are dealing with.

Were you bleeding the air at the valve on the thermostat housing?

Is the check engine light turning on? Check for codes anyway. See DIY section on how to get CEL codes?

Idle problems are usually due to air leaks. Those three valves can cause air leaks along with bad gaskets on the intake. Air in the cooling system can mess with the idle, but you already bled out the air.

Did you tighten the FITV until it was snug?

What you can do is remove the snorkel to the throttle body. Start the car. Cover the lower port on the throttle body with your finger. If the idle stabilizes, then the FITV is the problem. You can remove the vacuum hose to the air boost valve and see if blocking air to that port will change the idle.

Here is video specifically for what you are describing: youtube.com/watch?v=L788jKEVblY

Using propane is a safer way to look for a leak on the intake.
