Default Lower Control Arm Bushing Removal/Replacement

Hey all,

I was attempting a cv axle replacement for my 2001 accord lx 5-spd no abs. The axle will not fit through the wishbone so I attempted to remove the lower control arm bushing bolt. The bolt head snapped inside the bushing, so now only one side is supported by the bolt. I have used a puller/pusher to try and get the remaining bolt out to no avail. Honda mechanic suggested burning the bushing out. Does that sound accurate or is there another way to do this?

Picture shows screwdriver separating wishbone from broken bolt stud.

I think you are fighting the knurl on the bolt. try cutting the nut off and push it the other way.

Been a while, but the job is done. When I have time I will post what I consider to be a "real" experience as a home mechanic without air tools, etc. It involved replacing both CV axles, both lower control arms, and both sway bar links since everything was easily accessible.
