Default Maint. Required Light Stays ON After Reset

Have an '03 Accord with 62K miles. Been regularly serviced. Usually light only flashes before I have oil changed and reset it. This time, it came on solid and stayed on, even after I push the trip od. button while turning on the key. It blinks then comes right back on. Tried it several times. What gives? Been through 2 oil changes now and it still won't reset. Any suggestions?

That thread talks about a newer one with the maintenance computer. That's different.

I bet you just didn't hold the button for long enough after turning the key ON.

I don't know how much longer I can hold it in. The light does go off, I can even hear a relay clicking at the time, but within a second, it comes back on. The first suggestion given by PAhonda, though appreciated, did not work either. Any other suggestions? I'll try anything.
