Default Maintenance Required Light

I just got my Accord about 6k miles ago with 103k on it. I was told the timing belt and fuel pump were replaced at 95k. I now have 109k. At first, my Maint. Req. light was blinking for about 10 seconds after the car was started, then the other day it just stayed on. I know how,and already did reset it, but how in the heck do you know what particularly needs maintained? I read the manuel, and it gave a whole list of possibilites. With me buying it used, I'm kind of in the dark....aren't I?

Essentially that's an oil change reminder light. They continued that through '04 I believe.

hahaha...thanks man. It hasn't even been 3k miles since my last change yet. I typically will go 4k before I change. I'll just reset and keep an eye on my mileage. Thanks again.

You may want to look on the timing cover and see if there is a sticker on it showing when the belt was changed. If it was done at a Honda Certified Shop or at a dealership, they will usually put a sticker on there noting the mileage, date, & service performed. if there is no sticker - I guess you have to take the seller's word for it.

Here is a
I made on how to reset your Maint Req'd indicator light. This will apply to most Honda's and Acuras between 2002 and 2006.
