What year is your V6 and what's the mileage? 98-02 Accords have notoriously bad automatic transmissions, I believe the V6 is included in that.

Without knowing that, the first thing I would do is change the transmission fluid and the oil and oil filter. I know when I'm late on an oil change I can start to feel some hesitation.

should we guess what year you have?
I would say 1976 but I do not think they had a V6 that year so that might not be right.

If you have a 98-02 then you are in for a world of trouble.

I honestly think it should be illegal to sell that car to someone without making them aware of how problematic the transmission is.

I would agree with you, although an argument should be made that you should search for common problems with a car before you buy it. I know I always do.

My 2003 V6 has a bad final drive bearing. Diagnosed 6 months ago and in order to rectify the issue I will have to have tranny rebuilt. By Honda Shop says they will rebuild with a 2 year parts and labor warranty for 3 bills. Until then, I'm going to tolerate the roar and only do the job when I have total failure.

Do you mean 3 grand instead? A bill is usually $100. If it only costs $300 for the Honda shop to rebuild it right now, I would do it, as you wouldn't know if they would honor such a offer in the future. If it was $3,000 then that is a different story.

gotta wonder about a guy that with his one and only post, asks a very vague question and then never returns to post a reply.

Yes 3 grand ($3000). Sorry for the mislead. Yet another misspeak on my part. I seem to be having them often these days. LOL
