Mysterious Dark Puddle
I just went outside and moved my car for the night only to discover a dark puddle where it was sitting. The puddle is located below where the rear-center of the car would be just ahead of the rear wheels. I took a whiff of the puddle, and it definitely didn't smell like gas but had a more solvent-like smell. I looked under the car and it seems to be coming from above the fuel tank; or at least what looks like the fuel tank in the dark. Anyone experience this before?

Drove the thing all the way to work and back today. Brakes are fine. Crawled underneath when I got home and discovered that it appears to be coming from the extremely rusty spot in the front of the fuel tank.
Has anyone ever attempted this procedure before in their driveway? I'm no spring chicken when it comes to automotive repairs, but dropping the rear subframe without a lift just sounds like an uber pain. What would I expect to pay for such a procedure?
