Pulled the top intake chamber out to clean up the gunk on my Accord '98 ... and now while looking to redo the hoses connections, there is one mysteryous hose I can't find where to connect to.
Right behind the top of the intake chamber, there is a round connection with a hose hanging from it. The picture is on my bench and we are looking it from behind, it's when you open the hood, that side will be against the firewall.
It may also be that there was no conneciton to that hose when I pulled the intake cover out and that would be a reason why I can't find any.... but I'm having a hard time believing it.
I can blow through the end of the hose just fine.
I would like to know more details if you guys have it as I'm ready to put things back together but want to make sure of all connections before I start tightening bolts and nuts.

Ok, little progress: found that the round metal thingy is part of the IACV... not all Accords have that hose; I still need to find where it goes

 

Looks like it connects to an metal pipe over the passenger side of the fuel rail. That metal pipe has a vacuum hose on the other side that connects to a port on the intake manifold near where it bolts to the cylinder head. I attached a vacuum diagram that hopefully will help.

 

Ah, thanks for looking. I got that same diagram too but it's not too clear and I suspect it is for a newer model.
And all metal connections pipes are known by me, where they should go.

Apparently, that hose goes indeed to nowhere. Found another enlightening post below, so tomorrow I'll put everything back together after doing a IACV cleanup (I thrusted that my retired mechanic said he cleaned it, but the screws still have the "yellow paint" from factory so I'll review it since everything is still on the bench.

Well, what do I know ? Just tested the IACV and it's dead, dang... it's probably been dead for at least 2 years ... my poor daughter complained for some time but managed to drive around lol

Google Gemini says the terminals resistence is about 8-12 ohms.. that would give around 1 to 1.5 A to actuate the port, just in case one is wondering.
The test should find that resistence between center pin and the other two pins. My IACV had no measurable value at all... it's a busted open circuit.

Alright ordered one from, you guessed it: amazon..... I won't put the link here because things have a bad habit of disappearing from amazon listing.
I'll update again when I have things installed back, after all it still may be useful
