2001 Accord LX, 4dr.

I just recently hit 93k mi. Always kept up my maintinance and took care of my car. I noticed that more and more often it feels like my transmission is slipping. whenI come to a stop and then drive again, it wont go right away. my RPMs will go up and.. BAM sudenly the gear will pop in. Has anyone experienced this or knows what is happening? Iv'e been told it could be my fuel pump. I would appreciate any help/advice.

Auto tranny? Check fluid level & cleanliness & smell. And maybe just drain&fill the tranny (genuine Honda ATF makes a difference).

Not the fuel pump, by your description, since the engine RPM does actually go up & it acts like a neutral-drop. Unfortunately, my best guess is your tranny is about to die.

 

sounds like the tranny is about to go. i think there is a very good chance that your tranny is under warranty until 108k miles. hopefully someone will be able to confirm this. so if it is. trash it out. heres what i would do. drive about 30 miles an hour change from half throttle to no throttle every couple of seconds. this will get the tranny to hold a lower while you let the gas off then as you throttle it the tranny will slam into the higher gear real hard. catastrophic failure is inevitable.
