Default Need help for civic freind overheating

My Civic freind has been battling a over heating problem. He has replaced fan, thermostat, temp sending unit, and flushed eng/cooling system. I asked him if he "burped" the system. I'm not really sure if this is needed on this cars/cooling systems, however I have heard that this is necessary on other cars. So does anyone know of this and how to do it?

He is overheating in traffic. Reving the motor helps to cool the unit quickly, but city, stop and go driving he over heats. I'm wondering if an air pocket is keeping the collant from flowing. any ideas? 2002 Civic auto 4cycl.

thanks

Are both fans coming on? If the ac works, turn it on and verify they both are working.

Ask him to "look" around the t-stat housing for a bleeder valve.
