Need help identifying part! 96'
I have a '96 accord that is a salvage rebuild (didn't find that out till today) that has an engine with the exhaust manifold facing away from driver towards the street. spark plugs are facing toward driver side where passenger sit. (To visualize the facing of part). Where the thermostat housing bolts into and where the longpart of thermostat sits is what I need to know the name of. It has a cracked out fragment of the part where a bolt screws so now I cannot secure the thermostat housing. A name for this part would be wonderful and if anyone could tell le if I can replace that part alone too would be icing on the cake.

Thermostat case? Just go to one of the online Honda parts dealers and look at the diagrams. Sonshonda(dot)com seems to be the easiest to navigate. Look under the diagram called "Water Pump - Sensor."

Well, if I understand your description, sparkplugs across the back (closer to firewall) means you have an Accord LX (non-VTEC).
The picture shows the waterpump & T-stat stuff. I'm guessing your broken part is the thermostat case (#8)? You should be able to get that at a dealer.
There's an O-ring where it bolts against the engine (#25) & another for the water tube (#26). Get both of those.
Try a mail-order place?

You might find that shipping cost will make up for the cheaper part price? But maybe your local dealer might match the price??

Its the Thermostat Housing!!
Thank you for the help guys much appreciated. Turns out it was the thermostat housing but the bottom half just people on the phone couldn't understand what I was talking about. So I went out myself to a pick-your-part junkyard and managed to find the part. Couldn't find fresh O-rings at the store luckily the ones on the car currently somehow seemed to look about brand new so I just reused those after I wiped them.
