Need Help with Vehicle Speed Sensor
Hi, I have a Honda Accord 91 LX that needs to have the speed sensor replaced. I checked around and people say it's better just to try it yourself. I found a few websites with instructions, but am having a lot of trouble locating where it actually is. If someone could help me with how to find it, and maybe a picture if possible? I am not that great at mechanics, so more layman terms and less complex ones would be nice in instructions. All help appreciated, and thanks in advance!

On my '95 Honda it was behind the engine. I had to look behind it from the top and followed electrical wires down. I had to remove disconnect a few things to even reach it. Mine was WAY down there.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Welcome new members!
I couldn't find a good picture of the VSS, but here's part of the tranny case. Arrow points to the front of the car.
Find the part labeled #18; the VSS should be in that neighborhood, right beside that triangle thing that sticks up.

Post #2 of this thread shows the part (#9) where the sensor mounts.

Thanks!
I had forgotten to look for the VSS in the power steering section(?!?) Certain years the VSS was incorporated into some kind of pump assembly for the speed-sensitive steering. Not all years had that pump, but the VSS was always in that location.
I'm gonna move this to General Tech where it belongs.
