Default Help with Vehicle Speed Sensor

My speedometer on my 94 accord is not working. Got a code 17 and bought a new VSS but speedo is still not working. The cruise control and the odometer don't work either. I back probed the VSS and was getting 5V pulses while turning the wheel. What's weird is that the code 17 went away when I installed the new VSS.

If anyone has any insight I would sure appreciate it.

Open the Online Manuals thread in the DIY section. Get the 94 shop manual from the spooner link in the first post.

There is a drive link that could have been lost. See page 23-140 dealing with VSS installation. Also, make sure that the VSS electrical connector is clean and is connected securely.

Page 23-305 shows the inputs you should test using your volt meter for the cruise control. 23-298 shows the location of the control unit. Do the tests with your volt meter to figure out what is going on.
