help me find the vehicle speed sensor
I've got a 94 Accord Coupe Ex, V-tech, auto. The speedometer and odometer stop working at random times. The tachometer works normally. I want to check the Vehicle Speed Sensor,I've looked at the diagram that's postedon the web,http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...3D10%26hl%3Den
but I still can't find it. Is it underneath something?

RE: help me find the vehicle speed sensor
Does your cruise control stop working when the speedometer is failing? If the cruise control works, then the VSS is fine. Also a failing VSS will cause your check engine and D4 lights to come on.
The VSS is on top of the transmission. There is an online site that shows you how to retrieve error codes. It also has the shop manual on there. That thread is on the top of the DIY section under ACC 5th gen.

RE: help me find the vehicle speed sensor
You can pull out the speedometer and send it to a speedometer repair shop. I had a similar problem with mine, and they fixed the problem. It was about $120 to get it done. I'm not sure what that shop did to fix it. It could be screwed up solder joints for all I know. I found the shop by doing a google search.

RE: help me find the vehicle speed sensor
it will not tarnish your title at all..
if installing a new speedo head , it will come with a sticker, you put the actual miles as they are now,, attach the sticker by the car door striker ( by the color tag) ,, when it is time to renew the title there is a box that says ( not actual miles ) you just chk that one ,, it is not a big deal, i have replaced a few speedo heads and customers never had any issues with titles afterward
