Default Need a little help - coolant lines

My latest project...

1994 Accord EX - F22B2/Auto - 200k+ miles

I'm just finishing up Engine R&R. I started after the original head was removed. So I didn't have the chance to recall where everything was hooked up.

1. The coolant pipe at the rear of the engine. There is a small nipple in the middle. Appears to be a 1/4 - 3/8" hose attaches to it.

I'd like to know where that goes.

I found a vacuum diagram from autozones website to help on that part.

All looks good so far.
New timing belt/tensioners/water pump/oil pan gasket.
New motor mounts (pricey)
Have new fluids/filters...

Thanks in advance.

You can download a manual from Online Manuals post in DIY forum.

Try following link inside the quotes:

"http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/auto/jsp/mws/prddisplay.jsp?inputstate=5&catcgry1=ACCORD&catcgr y2=1994&catcgry3=4DR+EX&catcgry4=KA4AT&catcgry5=WA TER+HOSE+%281%29"

.

good luck

For a quick answer like I was needing at the time I'll post it here.

Small Coolant hose goes to the upper intake/appears to be some type of electronic valve maybe? Not sure. Maybe someone can clarify.

Thanks!

I'm not positive but it is more than likely the idle air control valve.

If it is the EACV then those would be vacuum lines. Not coolant.

The IACV or EACV does have coolant lines that pass through it to heat to operating temp quickly.

You need a manual.

good luck

texashonda, That makes a lot of sense. The hose fits perfectly down to the coolant pipe.
