Need some help ....05 trans issue

Hello folks...first post! The wifes 2005 Accord Ex 4cyl started with a strange and very minor "shudder at 25-30mph about 8k ago....very slight and infrequent. Next came the cel and I told her to take it to the local Honda dealer for service and to scan it. Sure enough they said trans control switch (different one) \\;and 175.00 later it was supposedly fine. (they also flushed the trans for the first time).
 \\;
Fast forward 8000 miles (she drives 100 highway miles daily) I get the call from her that the d light is flashing and the cel is lit, as well as it not "shifting right" I tell her to check fluid (clean red and full) and have it towed in .
 \\;
Dealer calls and says Solenoid "A" is bad. I say Ok fix it...three days pass. I get the call today and now they say ecu isnt sending signal to solenoid and "we think that the solenoid may have cooked the ecu/tcu so we want to replace that for 700.00". \\;We think? What?!
 \\;
 \\;Heres the deal folks... I have been in the automotive business for my entire life and currently manage 6 ASE GM techs but this just sounds incompetent. I asked the "writer" if his tech has proper Honda trans certs, I get "most likely" I ask if they did a simple click test with thier scan tool on the solenoid berfore assumiing it was bad... I got "I think he just did that". I seriously doubt that a bad solenoid could have taken out the TCU (or ecu if its separate).
 \\;
 \\;What is the proper procedures for these symptoms and can someone tell me why Honda wouldnt stand behind a major powertrain part like the TRANS or TCU at 90K??????
 \\;
Thanks in advance!

Call them up and explain the situation, have the dealerships invoice number handy. You can ask for Service Goodwill, because it wasn't "fixed right the first time"
How many miles are on the car now? If not far past warranty the District Service Manager could review the case.
When talking to the Customer Care Rep, schmooze a little bit. "I love my honda", "Want to keep it forever",...ETC.

Thanks for the phone contact Dude...will do today. There were approximately 8000 miles put on the car from the time they did the last trans "fix". Also I was told major powertrain only has a 36000 mi. warranty (I thought it was 70K but anywaythe car has 95K on it now). Plus I dont think external solenoids would be considered "major"...but the ECU!!!!?????
Any techs here familiar with these symptoms or the proper repair? Is there a TCU separate from the ECU?
Thanks again.....
