Default Need speedo drive unit source

'91 Accord 5-sp. Speedometer drive unit (the tiny distributor-looking thing that inserts into the transaxle that the VSS bolts to) has a broken bolt tab and is free to bounce up and down. Not a dealer part any longer. Can't find one at a Yard.

Been that way a while, it seems - VSS went bad; found this new issue when replacing. leaks oil out the top of the transaxle.

Any idea where I can find one? Searched here; no joy

Thanks -

Forrest

VSS is readily available from many online sources; ebay, rockauto, etc. Here is ebay search:

vehicle speed sensor | eBay

good luck

Not the VSS - I did buy one - it was $5. I mean the part that it mounts to.

That's great! I just picked my car up from the shop literally 5 minutes ago (they put in the new VSS); they printed me that exact same EBay ad - I'm ordering it now.

In the meantime, my speedometer now works and no check-engine light.

Thanks -

There is only very tiny force applied from drive to VSS. One bolt should work fine for long term.

good luck

I think the other bolt must be gone or missing - I can lift up the entire unit perhaps an inch, though I can't see it clearly. Trans oil is leaking out around it (just splatter, I guess) - and has been for a while.

Thanks -
