Default New Accord 2009 surface rust on suspension arms

Hi All, I bought a new Honda Accord EX 2009.
I jacked up the car in my garage to go over areas that dealer missed or didn't reach with their rustproofing.

I was supprised to see that all the machined surfaces (datum features) on various suspention arms have surface rust because they were left as machined (not coating or even black oxiding).
I used to be a mechanical designer, and don't remember leaving surfaces on metal parts (steel or aluminum) without coating, plating or painting.

The parts are thick and it will probably not rust to the point of structural failure during the lifetime of the car, but I would like to know what you have on your rides.

The wheel mounting surfaces on the rotors are also left as machined and have surface rust.
What do you have on you vehicles?

That's pretty common, across different car makes too. Sometimes I spray some light rustproofing stuff on there (waxy stuff, not tar), often I just get lazy & leave it as is.
