I just did new pads and rotors on my car and I'm getting a little noise out of them. Not too bad but you can notice it. I'm guessing I just need to get them to seat in. I did push the pistons back into their respective calipers as far as I can tell. Do I just need to drive it and wear some material down? I don't remember this the last time I changed pads but the rotors were turned so not as thick as the new ones of course. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

 

What year accord do you drive?

Is this from the front or back? What kind of noise are they making? When do they make the noise?

 

There are specific points to put brake grease so as to prevent noise from occurring. It's basically any points that contact each other, as well as for in between shims and on top of shims. You just don't put any where the pad contacts the rotor.

 

If the pads wedge tightly into the caliper brackets, that can prevent them from releasing fully. Sometimes I have to file a bit off the ends of the steel backing-plates of the pads, where they fit into the caliper bracket. Usually not much more than the thickness of the paint.

Did the pads fit nicely into the caliper bracket or were they very tight?
