Hey guys, I recently got a 88 Lx for my daughter that I'm about to put another engine (A20A1) into. The engine that I'm going to put in is used but passed a leakdown test with at least 82% on all cylinders. Ive learned alot about Hondas and FWD cars while I removed the shortblock/trans but, wanted to know if there are any tips that non-Honda guys might want to know.

1. Before I put the engine back in, it looks like I should put the intake on as it doesn't look easy while the engine is in, is there anything else that I should put on before installing??

2. I'm going to replace all gaskets (except the head), the timing belt and tensioner. Is there anything else, PCV, etc.

Just looking to cut down on the trial and error phase of the install.

2. Water pump is easier while the tb covers are off, but can be done later without removing the lower cover. I can also assume gaskets means seals as well-rear main, crank, cam.
