Lets say if the car was working properly, the car would sell for $8000 (look on craigslist for similar accords for sale to get an accurate price in her area). Subtract the cost of repairing the transmission (1500). Try selling for $6500, or maybe $5000. Then she won't have the hassle of fixing it.
