Default New Problem!

Well here I am again. This time my problem seems real bad. I was driving on the highway and i noticed my engine light turned on. The car was still moving but then i noticed it was really jerky. Then I also noticed once I stopped and was in first gear the car was barely moving....I know for a fact 1st and 2nd gear don't work at all. The thing is....I know when your cluth "goes" your gears slip.....but would the car jerk and the engine light come on?!?!? I need some help please!

Another note, after i shot off the engine, I went for a quick drive to the gas station and noticed that the jerking and 1st, 2nd gear were working fine this time. This was literally 3 hours after. But the engine light is still on. What could it be....is my transmission still having issues, could it be my clutch slipping? or could it be some sensor mulfunctioning?

Read the codes with a scanner borrowed from a parts store and post them up. Then we can give you some accurate suggestions...

A mod should move this to the correct forum soon...
