Default Newb question: button illumination

Sorry if this has been covered. I tried search but didn't come up with anything.
1996 Accord Coupe EX

Are the dashboard buttons for A/C and recirculation supposed to be illuminated? The air distribution buttons are, but the A/C and recirc are dark. If they are supposed to light up, any idea how to fix that? The green indicators above the buttons light up when you press them, but the icons on the buttons do not.

Thanks

That's what I thought :/ How do you replace that bulb? Is it hard to get to? I want them to be nice and blue like the rest ;-)

im not exaclty sure of the construction of the 5 gen dash, but in my car theres 2 screws on the botom and one behind the clock (the clock just pops out)

first look around for screws take them all out a give it a light (but firm) tug to see if theres anything holding it in still.

the wiring harneses might be alittle difficult to get out but make sure your pushing the release button on the harness

then in the back of the climate control the will be bulb holders (mine are plastic twist locks) and it will be the one directly behind the buttons that are out. but since you have it out id replace them all anyway

dont go to the dealer unless you have to, they will probably charge $3-7 for the bulb and the holder, take the bulb out and go to home depot or something and try to just get the bulbs

good luck

Read these instructions, it shows dash removal... Here's a few manual pages as well

Thanks a lot, I'll try that! Is is difficult to later adjust that air mix control cable the instructions suggest to disconnect?
