I just read a post that asked for some information that I did not have. I updated with a signature.

You really need to determine if the fuel pump is getting power when the pump doesn't turn on.

I remember that TexasHonda wired a test light to figure out if the pump was getting power, but I am not sure how he did it exactly. Hopefully he will read this and give you some details on how he wired it.

I forgot to state this prior. I did test the sending unit wiring when the pump whould not turn on. The sending unit wasgetting power when the pump would not turn on. Therewas power! That is what made mr think it was the pumo but what is between the pump and sendingunit?

Not sure what you mean by "sending unit". If youmean the connector in the trunk which feeds the fuel pump, then the fuel pump is bad if power is there and no pump action. The only connection is fuel pump connections to the wiring on top of the tank.

It is very strange for the new fuel pump to behave same as previous pump.

When you tested for power to the fuel pump what color wire did you check? It should have been a yellow wire near a two-wire connector. The 3-wire connector is to the fuel gauge.

If you had power to the yellow wire and no fuel pump, and the ground connection to the fuel pump (blk wire) is sound, then fuel pump must be bad.

I rigged a "tell-tale" light to the yellow wire and fed the wires (ground leadalso)through rear seat back to front seat on pax side. I used the folding wire splices to minimize wire damage.

When monitoring, I could see the light was on when keyswitch first turned ON, and going off after 2-3 secs. I found that when I had no-start the yellow wire had power (tell-tale lit) and fuel pump was not running. By hammering w/ repeated key turns from OFF to Start, the pump would eventually start and engine would start immediately.

good luck
