no elec power to motor maybe???

Default no elec power to motor maybe???

i have a 88 accord lx manual trans.. i went to shot some pool and when i came out the car would not start.the batt is not dead.turn the key all dash lights come on but ot does not seem like the starter or anything is getting power.any ideas thanks in advance.tried to pop start it but did not work

Grab a volt meter. Have someone turn the key to start the car. See if the wire that is not the + battery cable has 12V. If it does not, then suspect the ignition switch or the wiring.

If it has 12V, try lightly hitting the starter near the contacts with the plastic end of a screw driver. If the car starts, then it is likely the starter solenoid contacts.

You can also pull the small wire to the solenoid, when a friend turns the key, make sure you are getting voltage. Not that hard to get to it, got a few of these in the driveway. Check all connections/cables to be sure they are clean and tight.

turned out to be ground wire on solenoid.the clip broke of on it.so it was not grounded at all.easy fix thanks
