No floor heat on 2004 Honda Accord
I noticed last winter that I was not getting any floor heat in my 2004 Accord. The top vents work fine. The AC is working although I was told it might have a leak as it gets cool but not cold (still comfortable though). The display light on my sound system is also out, I don't know if that's related at all.
Any ideas as to what this might be and how expensive it would be to fix?
Thanks in advance for your help.

This could as simple as a sticking mode control lever or much more complex.
The mode control motor is located pass center of the car - open and lower the glove box (the little latches that keep it from falling all the way down - remove them so the box does lower all the way) and you should be able to "see" it. Look through the glove box opening towards the center of the car.
Once the box is down, key to "on" and cycle the modes from vent/windshield/ect and you should see the motor moving some levers/arms. When going to "floor", do the levers start to move and stop....what happens if you give the a gentle push....

a lot of people have had success disassembling the blend door and actuator and re lubricating it.
as for the head unit, it will have to be repaired. it is a known issue with the system where the backlight goes out.

Since I do some things myself, I can't answer the cost for a shop to do the work.
I'd like to ask another question or two.
If you set it to "floor" heat only what kind of heat are you getting?
If you have it set to Def/floor what kind of heat do you get on the floor?
Have you had the cabin air filter replaced recently?

When I set it to "floor" heat only, I get air blowing but it's not hot at all.
When I set it to Def/Floor, I get air blowing but no heat at all although the defogger works.
I can't remember the last time I had the cabin air filter replaced.

Just a reach but the cabin air filter should be replaced about once a year or more.
There are DIY was to get codes from the hvac system but again if you don't know the last time the cabin air filter was changed- start there as it is a maint item and we need to rule it out.

The issue sounds more like a problem with the air mix control linkage, door, or motor. The air mix control motor is located under the center dash area (driver's side).
If it is only the air mix control motor, the Honda part list for $68.27. Labor probably about half hour charge if you pay a shop to change it without diagnosis. That is if it only is the motor.
From your description, it sounds like the mode control motor may be okay. Air cabin filter shouldn't cause what you're describing.
Following this link to see if there are trouble code(s) to possibly narrow down the heat issue.
