Default No Fuel Filter - Gas Tank Maintenance?

I have a '99 Accord 4-cylinder with 112K miles. Is there any maintenance schedule for the filtering of the fuel in these cars? I understand that the filter is housed within the fuel tank but does not have a schedule for replacement or maintenance. (At least I have not seen one). It seems odd that other vehicles have fuel filters that are changed out every year but Honda has perfected the process to provide a lifetime fuel filtering system. We all know there is bad gas out there, especially with this 10% ethanol stuff.

I would appreciate any advice on this. I did not find any related topics on this using the search forums option.

Default RE: No Fuel Filter - Gas Tank Maintenance?

On Accords for quite a few years, it's been an item to check only, not to replace. If fuel pressure is OK, leave it alone. I have a 94Ex (220K miles) w/ original fuel filter that runs fine. I did have to replace the fuel pump and the tank was pristine clean, very surprising.

good luck
