I hope he didn't put the distributor in upside down. It's possible, but the distributor will not fit well and when tightened may be damaged. Guess how I know!

Also, the distributor can be assembled (assembly error) 180 degrees off w/ the drive lug rotated. If you align the crankshaft w/ the 15 degBTDC timing mark (red mark), the distributor rotor should be pointed directly at the #1 distributor spark tower. If it's in opposite direction, the distributor drive key will need to be removed, rotated 180, and reinstalled. I managed to do this one also while changing the distributor oring.

good luck

were can i see the marks so i can align the crank with the BTDC. also since i wasn't the only one messing with it i think the order of the wires are messed up

right now they are in 4 3 1234 1234 being from left to right and the dizy being looked at from the passenger side.

No. 1 tower is at about 1 o'clock position when looking at from side standing by RF fender. Order CW is 1-3-4-2. Looks like wires are misaligned.

Timing marks (90 Accord) are on the flywheel. A rubber grommet on front side of engine below/forward of the distributor is removed to access the flywheel view. Pointer is visible when grommet is removed.

good luck

first you need to find out what the problem is. get it checked by autozone if it is a obII and if its older than 96 then do the check your self and find out whats wrong with it and the light should come off. never perminantly until something else brakes.

what kind of car and year is it.

Two replacement distributors? Was misplaced wires the reason for failure to start after distributor installation?

good luck

There is one way to get it to go off besides erasing the code and that's to take care of the problem where it will then go out...If you erase codes you only are fooling yourself...

Besides, if you clear the codes, they won't stay cleared. Every time you run the engine, the ECU will 'discover' that the problem is still there.
