Default OBD-I engine in OBD-II car

I have a question and im trying to get reassured because i plan on doing some mods in the future but im not sure about the mod i have to do right now.
I have a 1996 CD7 2 door accord ex 5-speed with a stock F22B1, my car is OBD-II, I have a problem right now where exhaust is seeping into my radiator so im pretty sure my HG is gone, so i have sourced another F22B1 from a local shop for $200 but it is OBD-I so i have not jumped on it yet. My question is can i put the OBD-I engine in my accord with out having to modify anything? from what i have read online the F22B1 motors are identical even tho some are OBD-II and some are OBD-I, the other F22 engines are another story. If i do have to change my car to OBD-I can i use the engine harness from the plug on the strut tower to the engine from a 94-95 accord, and use and OBD-II to OBD-I harness @ the ECU?

Are you swapping the engine or just the cylinder heads?

i was planing on swapping the whole engine, my car still runs but it overheats so i have to go easy on it and i know driving it is not good for the engine. if i where to swap just the head i might as well just try to replace the head gasket , the thing is i dont know what kind of condition the head is in, if i pull it and the head is cracked im stuck. I was planing on buying a new head gasket, water pump, timing belt, crank and cam seals, and both tensioners, but if the head is cracked those parts are not going to help. so i figured 200 in parts or 200 in a spare engine and the engine feels like a safer bet.

besides the issues of having to completely rewire your car, i think it would junk the title. I think and im not sure about this but i think there is a legal issue involved too. Also how do you know it will only cost 400? are you sure the new engine doesnt have a blown head gasket or other issues?? I think you'd be better off just fixing the head gasket.

what do you mean by 400? im either spending 200 for a water pump, head gasket, timing belt, tensioners, and seals, OR 200 for a complete running engine, which he compression tested in front of me, and seems to be fine. I guess i could pull the head off and look at how bad it is before i do anything. also what do you mean legal issues? I live in florida we dont have smog inspections so i shouldnt have any issues with a swap or converting to OBD-I

The 94/95 OBD1 engines are almost identical to the 96/97 OBD2 engines.

The one difference is that two sensors in the distributor of the 94/95 were moved to under the timing cover on the 96/97 engines.

I would suggest using your stock wiring.

The two sensors under the timing belt cover, the oil pump/housing, and the crankshaft gears under the timing belt cover on your accord will have to be moved to the 94/95 engine.

so i would need to swap over my stock Oil pump with its housing, the crankshaft gear behind the pulley, and two sensors. Which 2 sensors would that be? by the parts your telling me im guessing some kind of angle sensors.

wait a minute i just thought of something, ( massive brain fart ) cant i just use my obd2 distributor?

No, because your OBD2 distributor has only one sensor (cylinder position sensor).

You would still need the crank angle sensor and the top dead center sensors from your original motor.

I think the OBD2 setup is better, because the crank and tdc sensors are actually reading the lower half of the engine.

If the replacement engine is getting a timing belt replaced, then swapping the oil pump housing is one extra step.
