Default OEM Battery

I'm thinking of replacing the battery soon but my problem is my old battery don’t have any sticker on it so I checked the manual and it says to replace with the capacity 12V 38 AH/5HR and 12v 47 AH/20 HR.

I guess the 12V is 12 volts and AH is amp hours. However I
don't know what the HR means.

Essentially I would like to know the correct OEM battery to fit this
1999 Accord and need the terminology that the stores use to size it
correctly (physical size and capacity).

Thanks in advance.

Can't help with the OE numbers....by my search, a group 35 battery with ~ 550 CCA should be fine.

From your engine size, this is a non-US accord.

I am not sure if the non-US accords take a different battery size, and if a different system is used for batteries outside the US.

Spaced on the engine size, I looked up the 2.3....where is that hammer to head icon?

There are slight size differences in the two

BCI group 35 : L 9 1/6 (230 mm), W 6 7/8 (175 mm), H 8 7/8 (225 mm)
BCI group 51R: L 9 3/8 (238 mm), W 5 1/16(129 mm), H 8 3/4 (223 mm)

Euro/Asia Accord was a completely different car in 1999. I don't know specifically, but wouldn't be surprised if the battery is physically a different size.
