Default Oil in Throttle Body/Air Filter

I was looking for the cause of my excessive oil consumption on my 2001 Accord and noticed a large amount of oil residue on the the throttle body and Air Filter hose. The inside of both seemed pretty clean but there was oil caked on the outside. What does this mean? thanks

The first thing I'd be checking is your PCV; how long since it's been changed?

Check PCV hose it should be open and not collapse under vacuum. I've seen some PCV hoses that collapsed when warm and under vacuum.

good luck
