So for the past week i've noticed poor AC performance. In other words it was just recharged a month ago and right after the recharge as well as to present day it doesnt blow hard. The Ac just doesnt do enough. I put it on 4 and I still end up sweating in the car. I noticed that my radiator has 2 fans yet only one blows. Its the fan to the left if your facing the windshield/front of the car/engine. The other fan never kicks on. I turned the car on and put the AC on full blast, and even then the other fan never kicked on. Its like the cooling fan is cooling down the engine and cooling the car. So what is the purpose of the other fan? Im guessing its somehow broken or not working. Anybody have any ideas as to what I should do, or if I should replace it?

 

Two issuses.

Can I assume this is on the 96 and it is a 4cyl?

1.Rad Fan not running(right/pass side fan on a 4cyl)- Pull the connector going to the fan motor (the one that doesn't work). Put 12 v to the motor, does it run? Turn on the car, ac and blower-test for 12v on the wires. Also check the underhood fuses.

2. AC Performance-What are the high and low side pressure readings? Are you sure the **** is turned all the way-these are known to break, pull the **** off and double check. Check the heater control valve, is it closing off all the way?

EDIT: More tests will be needed but these should get you started.
