94 accord LX CAR STILL WONT START!GAAHHahhAA.
My father the mechanic...... >.< is so sure its some kinda control modulator?(which to me makes no sense?)Other than the dash light not lighting up (which is inside the dash nothing to do with under the hood) I guess Their is two control modulators under hood? ignition modulator and something else???Engine/Tranny NO LEAKS Ran VERY strong fine before the once only shoot of small smoke then never to start again? All components still are getting spark distributor ect.. We have tested it ALL several times!!..over heated once NEVER to red line before to never start again ,getting compression from engine still? How do I check this Ignition modulator and other modulator and rule it out?
Could this only 50$ Part be the whole problem for the last SEVERAL MONTHS!!!??
(been in school,Healing from accident as well as father working over time at Hyundai, so not too much time to mess with it lately
Really contemplating Ripping off the whole muffler and everything Tearing out the Cadillac converter, but this again to me makes no sense because after it sat for a while it still would start and run right even for a little at least? I've never had one not allow the car to start for MOTHS?
I'm pretty car savvy,But this 94 accord Lx is driving me NUTS making me miss my completely restored totaled baby CRX all thanks to some DRUNK TERD running a stop sign hitting me going 55 who stopped my heart thanks to the seat belt(thank god had it on though and made it out alive!) fractured my heel and ankle in 3 places leaving me with 4 herniation in my neck!!!! I'miss that crx Carbed 91 so bad !I could change anything out on it by myself with ease!

I'm trying to follow everything here. At some point try to break things up so it is easier to read.

Are you getting spark to the plugs?

If you spray starting fluid into the throttle body (TB) with the butterfly open. Then try to start the car, what happens?

Ok,sorry :/ breaking it down

*throttle body sprayed with starter fluid few different days/few different times, almost starts it. It is Really trying to start but something is stooping it?No more smoke?Just happened that one time 8 months ago to never start again after radiator/thermostat was changed?

*just bought the Inter-motor Relay, which I was told controls the fuel regulation. So, hopefully this is the fix,but who knows at this point? I'm going to be so annoyed if a 60$ part is the reasoning for these last 8 months or so of my car not starting@@#!

*Im wondering if it is a clogged catalytic converter?Which would maybe explain the smell I had mentioned on previous post right before it broke down to never start again with the small puff of smoke appeared from exhaust? When we spray the starter fluid into the throttle body It does not have the carb smell now?Does not start but try's too.So should I be safe to rule out a clogged catalytic converter out?

*Is it possible their is some other relay stopping it from starting?

*run down on car*
*All spark is getting spark, plugs, wires, distributor, main relay, battery everything tested we can think of ,that would stop the car from starting?
*engine is getting normal compression.

That's encouraging. Reading through the different pages, it sounds like spraying starting fluid is the only time the engine fires. Do you have an Autozone nearby? The AZ's in my neck of the woods rent fuel pressure testers for free with a deposit. They tee off of the banjo bolt on top of the fuel filter.

138 is kind of on the low end. Depends what altitude you're at too. Spec is 178 nominal, 135 minimum, but 178 at sea level would be 148 at 6000'. Just throwing that out there because there's no location in you sig.

If the engine is locked up, sounds like you are going to have the swap it out.

You can usually find low milage used motors for not too much. Suggest a few maint items before the install.
