Default oversized radiator

I have an aluminum oversized radiator (Mishimoto as shown on the picture) with 19 lbs on the cap. My problem is my coolant fan isnt turning on but when i turn my ac on the ac fan works. I was told i should drop down to 14-16 lbs but i wanted to ask you guys since u guys are the gurus when it comes to accords. Im not overheating but ive never drove over an hour straight in my car yet. but when i do drive for a while i check my radiator and its very hot. Please help and thanks!

Well, my fan doesn't come on when moving on real road.
But when car's warm, and I drive up a hill in 1st gear (rough dirt road) it does come on.

I don't really see a problem w/ your car other than your concern and your trying to do the right thing. But your having data would help I bet, so
next time you (?) order from Harbor Freight Tools add $15 and get their cheapest infrared temp sensor. (I've one)
You can then measure your radiator temp instantly by pointing it at it, while still inches away.
Peace of mind for you, imo.

i didnt order this from harbor freight tools. i don't think my radiator getting extremely hot to the point where you can only tap it is a good thing. but im not a mechanic thats y im on here. i was thinking my radiator was too big or something ive seen a couple picturess of other engine on here and havent seen a radiator my size yet.

Thermo A (on the t-stat-green connector) will make the fans come on when the engine is on. From the factory it does this ~196*....so if it never gets to that point then they won't come on, testing would be required.

If the temp gauge is not getting to half or higher then I wouldn't worry too much. The larger rad and current cool temps might be keeping it from getting to that point.

avoiding confusion via PM messages between us ... and helping others out, maybe.
This is the inexpensive infra red temp sensor from Harbor Freight Tools (.com?) that I referred to above.
I checked its readout accuracy and it is stinking right on! Nice surprise to me.
