Default OWNER and learning

91 Honda Accord EX, 177,700 miles. Had to replace gasket cover seal because engine was smoking so bad and oil was leaking on engine. replaced seal and now the smoke is expelling from exhaust. Chilton is not helping me and I am hoping someone with all the expertise on this forum would be able to give me insight before I tackle this myself. I hate to think I would completly ruin this engine. I have an idea what this may be but afraid to admit it at this point.
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

one shouldn't have anything to do with the other. was the exhaust smoking prior to repairs? and what kind of smoke, blue, white, black ??? and you meant valve cover gasket correct? not the head gasket?

Default Sorry, just learning

No, the exhaust did not expell any smoke. Yes, the value gasket, not the head gasket. The smoke is pure white. Thanks for the interest!

white smoke is usually indicative of head gasket failure.
