Default Passenger Airbag Sensor

I have a 2006 Honda Accord V6 with a salvage rebuilt title. There’s an issue I’m having with my passenger srs sensor, once I turn my car one that sensor remains on, it doesn’t cut back off. I’m trying to figure out if this is something I can fix on my own or is it something I would have to get done at the dealership because for me to be able to pass inspection the passenger airbag sensor must turn on for a few seconds then turn off and stay off

if anybody could lead me in the right path I would gladly appreciate it I been going threw this with my car for a year now since I bought it from somebody last year

Your red SRS light and side airbag light are on, so you should have some kind of code stored in the SRS system. You might try stopping by a parts store to see if their code reader can read the SRS codes on your accord. If not, a shop with a professional scanner should be able to figure out the code(s) and where to start troubleshooting. The dealership is also an option.

If the airbags were deployed, the DTC's are suppose to be permanent after a collision and the SRS light stays on. It is software implemented. Honda probably doesn't want the liability of it not working in case of another collision. The SRS unit suppose to be replaced after airbag deployment.
