Default PCV Valve Oil and Stuck to Hose

Hi all,

I was trying to replace the PCV valve on my '94 Accord LX, and when I removed it, I noticed oil around it. This doesn't really come as a surprise because the spark plugs had oil on them when I changed them recently. I'm guessing that the gaskets need to be replaced?

Secondly, I can't seem to remove the PCV valve from the hose as it appears to be stuck. I was hesitant to just yank it out for fear of damaging the hose. However, I did see a metal ring around it, which I'm guessing is some sort of clamp? Do I just need to move that and I should be able to remove the valve?

Thanks in advance for the help!!

1. For the oil on the spark plugs, the gaskets will have to be replaced.

Oil leaking into spark plug holes

2. To remove the PCV valve, the clamp has to be removed first with a pair of pliers.

Slide the metal clamp back. wrap a rag around the hose at the pvc, then use some pliers to twist the hose off of the pcv valve. Some penetrating oil, like PB blaster or WD-40 won't hurt.

Got it! I'll change out the gaskets asap. Also, managed to move the clamp and replace the PCV valve with ease.

Cheers!!
