Default Peripheral Ipod Adapter Problem

Hello,

I was trying to post this in the Audio section of the forum, but I am getting an error saying that the page I am requesting is not found.

I have a problem with my peripheral IPod adapter. It works fine as far as sound quality, fast forwarding tracks and volume controls. The problem is that I cannot get the text to show up on my screen. As per product description, you should be able to see what song is playing, even browse songs by title, name, genre, etc.

Does anyone know what is the problem?

Never mind, solved the prob myself.

All that you need to do is, first off connect all the hardware provided in a kit, quite simple install, just follow the instructions.
Then when the ipod is connected, you need to RESET the ipod, which is not mentioned in the instructions. To do that, connect the ipod to the "peripheral" cable in the car and hold the menu and center button pressed for ten seconds, while the IPod is connected this will reset your ipod and the Ipod menu will appear in you xm menu on you radio. That is it.

P.S. I contacted the tech support at "Peripheral Electonics" for help, they did not mention anything about reseting the IPod, which I think is kind of f*** up, they should know. Other that that, great product, sound quality is amazing, but depends on the quality of your mp3 files, Ipod controls (search songs, artists, etc) take a minute to get used to, but are quite simple. Definately the best solution for an aftermarket IPod integration.

It was probably an issue on the iPod end and not the cable or radio. I have an iPod cable for my deck and sometimes the iPod will go AWOL and I cant change songs or playlists... just a simple reset will get it back to normal.

I tried it on a couple of different Ipods (nano 2g and 3g, touch2g) and none of them would show the Ipod menu untill the reset. But anyway, Im happy now
