Default Plan of attack

Looking for some advice on what to tackle next....

My 2000 accord has been slowly loosing oil, no leaking, no visible burning or burning smell:
The gas peddle started sticking so I checked the air intake valve which was all clogged...and cleaned it.
I also replaced the pcv valve which was not working. I figured this would take care of everything but I am still loosing oil and the air intake is clogged again.

- The engine searches in idle and there is definitely a loss of power.
- Spark plugs are dry and new.

My next step would be to replace the IAC. Any suggestions?

Check for evidence of oil in your antifreeze? Look in radiator, not just in overflow bottle.

What brand of spark plugs?

Oh should've mentioned that....no oil in the radiator either.

Spark plugs, not sure actually, I just went to walmart and got was was in the part catalog.....but there is no oil in there when I changed them.

Hondas really seem to work best on NGK plugs. People havereported problems with Bosch.

Thanks for the heads up.

I know the oil is getting in there somehow, there are several tubes that lead into the air intake manifold. Has anyone experienced a gunky intake valve after replaceing the pcv valve?

Check the crankcase vent line #4 - oily? This is the only source of oil upstream of the throttle that I can think of. Normal airflow is towards the valve cover. But with blowby or WOT, it reverses direction.

If PCV valve (#2) was bad, maybe that line remains clogged?

I'd run a bottle of Seafoam and Marvel Mystery oil to clean things up. Check compression for blow-by. Change oil and install a new crush-washer on the plug.
