Poor MPG and Power no CEL tho...
hey all, first post here. last week I bought a 96 Accord 2.3 automatic with 189k, well maintained.
It runs great but seems down on power but I'm just getting used to the car. It also shifts very slightly irregular but I will change the fluid and see if that clears up.
But I just checked the MPG and with mostly highway driving and taking it very easy, I got ONLY 21.5 MPG. WTH?
No engine lights and it runs perfect like a Honda should.
So, not sure where to start looking?
The timing belt was done at 105k in 2006, thats a 90k belt right? I'd like to put that off until spring, is that a safe bet?
Thanks for any replies

The timing belt is 100K or 7 years.....so the spring should be fine, depends on how many miles you put on it.
Since you just got it. Unless you have records to show when and what has been done. I'd start with all of the tune up items. Fluids - trans, please ONLY use Honda Trans fluid. Cap, rotor, inspect wires, spark plugs, air filter.
