Default popping/clicking when power applied

I have a 1997 Accord EX Coupe w/ 5 sp. when power is applied after letting clutch out from a roll or a stop there is small pop or click from the drivers side front end. CVJs make noise very occasionally... How worried should i be. I have one day off from work before going on a road trip. I just backed up in both directions and couldn;t get any clicking from torn boots, but occasionally get it at low speed at full lock. My understanding was this is the early signs, and not a fix right now issue. Am I horribly mistaken?

I have seen broken axles last as much as 30k miles. Stay away from potholes and you will be ok.

Here is a good video on how to do this:

Make sure you line up the new cv joint to make sure it is the same size and splines as the original.
