Default Possible misfire...

Ok so I changed the clutch on my 94 accord dx. And when I fired her up the check engine light was on, we scanned it and it says its the ECT sensor. But when I turn the car on when its been sitting over night, it sounds like it pops in the engine bay and struggles for a bit to stay on unless I push the gas pedal down, and when im driving, right when I shift it almost sounds the exhaust backfires. is this all because of the ECT sensor? I don't understand, havnt been able to do much, low on funds

could be a number of things, could of pinch o2 wires in the bell housing, or any other wires around that area. but the ect sensor is a very important sensor, it pretty much tells the ecu the temp of your coolant which will determine how your engine will run, if its always reading too cold its going to run to rich and dump fuel to compensate, if its reading to hot it does the opposite. sounds like your in limp mode, replace the sensor and clear the code

not a bad diagnosis hickey, i've seen bad ECT sensor cause a complete no start condition. good cheap place to start anyway.
